Sow deliberately

Follow the packet’s depth and germination instructions, including whether the seed needs light or darkness. Label the variety and date. Use clean equipment and a medium suitable for your system rather than assuming garden soil belongs in a hydroponic basket.

Keep moisture and air in balance

Seed-starting media should stay moist without being continually saturated. Water and oxygen both matter to young roots. If you use a germination cover, remove or vent it as directed after sprouts appear. Do not copy potting-mix watering advice blindly into a different hydroponic design.

Watch the plant, not just the calendar

The first seed leaves are not the same as the later true leaves. As seedlings grow, avoid crowding and provide suitable light. Follow the system’s transplant guidance, supporting the growing plug instead of tugging a delicate stem. Take a photo and note what changed before adjusting anything else.
